DAddario EJ24 Phosphor Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings, True Medium, 13-56
    May 09, 2017
Bright enough without burning your ears
I like these better than the 80-20 bronze EJ12s when used on a guitar with an under-bridge "acoustic" pickup. Piezo pickups accentuate the bright so much that with a really bright string like the 80-20s, you can singe the tops of your ears. On "warm" (read: dull) sounding guitars, particularly un-amplified ones, the 80-20s add some needed sparkle. I'm a string bender wannabe who tunes his guitar down to C to make the strings floppy, so when "warmer" phosphor bronze strings are called for, these EJ24s suit me a little better than the EJ17s because they are slightly lighter gauge overall. All in all, D'Addario provide great value for the money and once you settle on a formula and gauge you like, you can find it everywhere and buy it again and again.
ONE RARE BRAZILIAN ROSEWOOD VENEER =CITES PRE BAN OVER 60 YEARS OLD 1/32 NOS S

    Works fine, but . . .
This worked for the shimming I had to do. It says it's 1/32" thick. My piece measured 0.020" to 0.022". I used two thicknesses for a total thickness of 0.040" which turned out to work fine in this case. Just be aware that, because of dryness, shrinkage, whatever, these are more like 0.020" than 0.03125"
Emerson Custom Pro CTS Potentiometer - 250K Short

These are amazing in certain situations . . .
. . . like electric guitar tone controls. When you have it "all the way up," it is electrically "open" and drops out of the circuit. This means that when you're NOT using your tone control (like you're usually not), it's not there and not loading your circuit even a little bit. Cool. What wish is that they made a "reverse audio" taper version of it that was zero ohms fully CLOCKWISE and increased in resistance in a logarithmic fashion as it was rotated COUNTERCLOCKWISE to go open and drop out of the circuit at the fully COUNTERCLOCKWISE position. This would make the rotational action more intuitive for some "blend" applications. Nevertheless less, it works rilly good.
