Solid reel
4 of 4 found this helpful It's a great reel, no doubt, but pricey. This is a dressed up, premium version of the Daiwa B&G, and it is excellent. The only reason for only four stars is that it's over-priced in comparison to the Daiwa B&G, with which shares 95% of the same parts. The addition of an extra bearing and Mag Sealed bearings don't really justify the price increase. By all accounts, it is a rugged reel and it should be extra corrosion free (with minimal maintenance). I haven't had mine very long at all, so we'll see. Certainly, it is one of the smoothest reels I have ever used, and seems very strong. The engineering that went into this is impressive. Bottom line, don't pay full price for this one. Wait for a sale, or simply buy the B&G in the same size. It's essentially the same reel for about 65% of the cost.
