Dinah Shore and Andre Previn were national treasures; this CD provides plenty of
Two pros doing their thing--what's not to like? The songs are logical choices, and
the performances are first-rate. Having two albums on one CD is a real bargain:
in the first the accompaniment is Andre Previn at the piano, and in this role no one
is better; in the second the orchestra provides a solid foundation. This is a CD that
should be in everyone's personal collection--while the songs are genuine oldies,
they are ones that belong in the pantheon of unbeatables. Because Dinah Shore
was perhaps overexposed via television, one tends to forget just how good a
vocalist she was, and this CD serves as a permanent reminder. It will go and
stay on my shelf of true treasures, for that is simply where it belongs.
