I've bought these before in huge envelopes for $7-8. I didn't want to support Amazon so I figured I would get them on eBay this time. Wish I would have read. I was expecting a pack with maybe 7 or 8 pairs of these and I get two little silicone rings for $10! My fault for not reading, but this seller is making a killing from parting these out. Was fast though, so there's that.

Functional Wheel Mount
8 of 8 found this helpful This wheel mount will easily suit a full grown adult--I am 6'4"--on a normal couch, and the bars are well out of your way during normal use. I also appreciated the screw-in feet which keep the metal bars off of your floor. The pieces have a very snug fit when assembled, meaning that it took a lot of effort to extend the mount tray upward and scratched the paint on the bars as it went. Your hands will also be slightly blackened and require washing after assembly, as the paint/finishing is not of the highest quality. The assembly instructions are on one page and are extremely vague. However, this is a difficult assembly to mess up, although you may wonder where the proper placement is for the included washers. As a budget mount, this certainly gets the job done and provides a lot of good racing times. You get what you pay for, and this mount is fine, if not a little unpolished. It even includes velcro strips to help with cable routing! That is quite considerate.

Rocketing in from the DVD stoneage
0 of 1 found this helpful Great movie. Bad DVD. Unfortunately this version is from the early days of DVD, when black bars were hard-coded into a 4:3 picture. This is NOT native widescreen, and creates a picture quality so low, when you are forced to zoom the picture, that VHS would be a more preferable option. It might look good on a late-90s CRT TV. If you're watching on an HDTV, get the BluRay. It's not a preference, in this case, it's a necessity.

One of the best space sims I have played
Independence War 2 is a masterful space sim. Every aspect that you may wish to have is here: great graphics with low system specs, outstanding sound and music, and compelling gameplay.
The game does have a rather steep learning curve, since it uses realistic Newtonian physics. An object in motion stays in motion, etc. Unlike other space sims, your ship will not handle like a jet fighter, and it can take quite a while to get used to this. However once you get a handle on it, this semi-realism can be quite a bit of fun and really immerses you into the experience. If you have a decent gamepad you can use, then you will enjoy it even more, since almost all of the most important commands are logically mapped onto the controller, so you rarely need to touch the keyboard.
One thing that may cause a glitch for some people (as it did me) is that the game has a hard time decoding its MP3 music with anything other than Direct X, leading to stuttering music. If you have ffdshow or other codec packs installed and set to decode MP3, you may have to reinstall them and disable their functionality for MP3.
Another minor complaint is that there is no in-game keymapping options or list of commands, which can be very confusing. However there are some excellent fan community Web sites still out there, which are easily found on a Google search, that have many helpful guides and mods, including a key mapper program.
Slight complaints aside, the game itself is brilliant. If you ever had dreams of being a space pirate, this is the greatest wish fulfillment of that fantasy you can find! With the huge amount of freedom allotted to you, it can be just as fun to simply fly around to busy spots in space and raid cargo shipments as it can to follow the story missions. You can even take a philanthropic role, helping out ships in distress from other people raiding them. All the choices are up to you!
