GREAT unit for Over-the-Air basic DVR functions
2 of 2 found this helpful The ViewTV AT-300 is a GREAT unit to use for either OTA (over-the-air) broadcasts or for unscrambled/unencrypted basic cable channels.
If you purchase this unit, the first thing you need to do is make sure to remove the plastic covering on the black metal part of the unit as well as the plastic covering the right front panel. Because the plastic covers the vent holes on the unit so it definitely needs to be removed.
ALSO, you should upgrade the firmware before you do anything else.
Upgrading the firmware is very easy. Just go to their website and the firmware file you need for the ViewTV AT-300 is on the bottom of this page.
Download the file to a USB thumb drive of any size.
Then plug the thumb drive into the unit and power it on.
In the setup menu, go to System Setting menu, and on the bottom of that menu is the prompt for Software Update.
Just select that, and follow the prompts, and this unit will find the update file and update the firmware.
Let it run through, as it takes a few minutes. And it might appear that its hung-up, but its not. Give it several minutes to finish. The process takes like 5-10 minutes to update.
Updating the firmware (software) in the unit is important because it adds some nice features to this unit, including the correct clock display and more importantly, it allows the unit to handle NTFS, which will allow for drives up to 1TB to be added to the unit. (NOTE: a 2TB-3TB drive "might" work, since this unit now supports NTFS, but we did not test for that.)
But we tested this unit with a 500GB and 1TB external NTFS formatted drive and it performed flawlessly.
There are a lot of nice features with this AT-300 unit.
First, it offers multiple outputs including coax, HDMI, Component and Composite output as well as digital audio output.
The on-screen programming guide is basic, but it functions well.
However, it only shows you what's on the channel you are currently tuned to, for up to 24-48 hours ahead of time.
If you want to see the upcoming programming information for another channel, you must first tune to that channel.
This information is broadcast along with the TV signal by the original broadcaster, and is not an inherited part of this unit itself.
So some broadcast stations may broadcast more comprehensive information about a particular upcoming show, and some may not.
Or some shows or movies may have a lot more descriptive information then other shows, for example.
In our testing, we found pretty comprehensive descriptions for most TV shows and especially for movies, but again, this might vary from area to are and from broadcaster to broadcaster.

Doesn't Use a Standard Coax Cable Type of Connector!
5 of 5 found this helpful The main problem with this antenna, is that it DOES NOT USE a STANDARD COAX type connector for the cable that comes down from the antenna.
The connector that is on the cable, which plugs into the control box, is a BNC type of connector, which means that you are limited in how far you can place the control box from the antenna (the cable is 8 meters or 26 feet long.)
Obviously, if you mounting this antenna to your roof, the included cable might not be long enough (and the cable IS NOT replaceable it is hard-wired attached to the antenna module.)
Most of the antennas that I have seen (and sold in the US) use a standard coax cable connection, which then allows for virtually any length of cable needed to come down to the control box.
This antenna might be ok for someone who is using it close to, or in the same room as, the control box and TV. But if you are planning on mounting this on your roof, ... well "Forgetta' Bout It"!!

Nice product. Good fit.
If you want to dress up some old seats, without spending a ton of money, this is the way to go. They look nice, hold up well, are pretty easy to install and really help to dress up the interior of any vehicle!
The only downside for me, was that the back seat cover was not a split cover (if you have split rear seats) so I was able to use the rear seat cover. Which was ok for me, because my rear seats didn't really need a new cover to begin with. But the rear seat cover for this set, is a one piece cover for a standard bench style seat.
