Minimal shading
This filter provides minimal shading, but it ought to provide some protection.

More efficienr work-flow
I have purchased two additional negative holders - I now have three. This smooths out my work-flow so that I can load up an entire 24-frame roll of film (fills 3 holders) and scan while being busy doing other things.
