It reminds us to let go of unhealthy thoughts and actions.
For those of us who grew up with an alcoholic parent recovery for me was life changing. I read this book, after joining an ACOA group in the early 1990's, as I had married an abusive alcoholic. The recent purchase was for my daughter who has made far healthier choices in her relationships than I did. While I sought counseling for her as a teenager, I simply wanted her to remember to seek the recovery lessons while navigating her challenges as an adult.
