What am I doing wrong?

I set the alarms following the directions to sound with the radio. The lights indicated that I successfully did that. However, when the alarms sounded in the morning, they sounded with the buzzers. Everything looked fine when I retired the night before. Why didn't the alarms sound with the radio, as the lights indicated they should have? I'm rather disappointed, but I'm not sure if the fault was the radio's or mine.
