Just what is advertised.

Far from great.
1 of 1 found this helpful We bought this for a white-noise generator, as we are day sleepers and we need to mask the ambient sounds. In that regard it serves the purpose. But not with the nature noises. They are rather tacky and seem to be on very short repeat loops. So we've tuned the radio dial all the way to the end and so it now gives us the white noise. We made a bad choice for us with this one, although it might do for others.
When we selected this model, the other features were, to us, to be merely plusses. That said, the unit is complicated and, as ours came as advertised, without an owner's manual, we went to the web. What we found was tiny and confusing. So we have not explored all of the "wonders." So far, the automatic time setting feature is slightly off and we don't know how to correct it. (Another slightly older Sony clock-radio we own is off by 6 minutes. We should have been forewarned.) The heat lists the room in the 80s, which, well, it isn't. The radio sound is as expected for a one speaker tiny unit. Someday we may even figure out how to program it. The blue display is very hard to read at any distance at all. At the moment it sits on top of another clock which we can see. Ho hum. But I do suspect that for the money this would probably suit many people*. Do check out the Owners Manual on the web to be sure it is not more featured than you want. As for us, we would have done better with a dedicated white-noise, nature sounds machine.
* Added later. Not many folks would be pleased with this. Downgraded to one star.

Excellent window into a remarkable woman
I loved this book! Sarah was a wonderful character and Skinner brings her to life. A good read for anyone interested in the theatre.
