Great sight word lessons

Units intensively review five sight words at at at time in different situations. Worksheets limit practice to targeted sight words and words in previous units. Lessons are progressive. The progress of my student is huge over a short time and his confidence is growing.

Effective book for teaching sight words

Should only be used after completing volume 1because the series is progressive. Words from volume 1 are reviewed throughout volume 2. Volume 1 teaches basic sight words, while volume 2 teaches medium frequency sight words. The lessons include spelling, word comprehension, and syntax. 125 words are learned in each book. Lessons are limited to sight words learned so the student is not distracted by words that are not pertinent to the lesson or previous lessons. These lessons are also useful for teaching learning disabled students.

These books really work at learning reading!

These Wonder Phonics Books are very successful with children and adults that have learning disabilities, dyslexia, and any other difficulty learning to read. They combine phonics and sight words using a lot of repetition and some rhyming to instruct first and second grade levels. I couldn't recommend them more highly.
