Discrete Mathematics
1 of 1 found this helpful The material is put together well and the author introduces interesting facts. No wonder this book is a bit old (written in 2003) but is still being used by instructors. The only reasons why I didn't give it an Excellent are because:
1. There are grammar/written errors.
2. Some pages reference tables or charts etc. on other pages instead of reproducing them on the same page. I realize this may sound picky, but my last math textbook reproduced them and it's amazing just how much easier it is to grasp the concepts by doing this.

Outstanding TV Series, poor recording.
This is one of my favorite TV shows. Being someone who loves Star Wars and Star Trek, both movies and TV shows, that should mean a lot considering they have set some of the standards.
However, this specific set of DVDs looks as though somebody recorded it on a VHS tape while it originally aired, then digitized the series from the VHS tapes. I've digitized all of my 8mm video tapes and they came out pretty clean without all the graininess that these DVDs have. I still have VHS tapes and a player, and my old tapes look better than these DVDs. Menu screens are supposed to be like an arcade video game's "attract mode" where it entices you. But the menu screen on this set has jittery music when it loops instead of transitioning smoothly. There is no feedback on toggling the commentary, and I couldn't toggle back so I have to reset the player's power each time I want to turn it off.
I gave it a 3 instead of 2 or 1 because I don't see any competition. So, if you want the 1st and only 1978 Battlestar Galactica season, and you want it now, this is it. This set of DVDs will give you the original episodes as far as content is concerned, and I appreciate that. However, I'll keep my eye out for a version recorded professionally.

Best Video Game of its Time!
1 of 1 found this helpful Star Raiders was the first 3D perspective video game I've played. Although it was made in the late 70's, it uses the typical 3D type starfield with scaling sprites for the 3D effect. It involves space ships shapes from Battlestar Galactica & Star Wars. You use a galactic map to warp to different sectors to protect your starbases. Docking to a starbase will refuel your spacecraft. There is an aft view which allows you to fire behind you while being chased. I have nothing bad to say about this game. A possible improvement would be if it allowed networking between 2 or more ATARI 800's. And ex ATARI game programmer told me they had a network version which wasn't released, but I haven't verified this in person.
