String and woodwind sounds from an electric guitar!
This is a fun way to get string and woodwind sounds from an electric guitar. It took me a couple of hours of practice to get to a point where I could produce a desired sound on command.
Reading the manual is a must, as this is quite a different experience for guitar players. But the results are worth it, and you will be able to produce unique sounds that set you apart from a typical guitar player.
The downside is that the unit is cased in plastic and will most likely not survive a bad drop. So treat it gingerly.

A clear, coherent, and easily understandable intro book
This was a required textbook that I used for one semester. The reading assignments were heavy, and we had to finish reading virtually the entirety of the book.
This book excels at presentation. I'm not interested in politics and I find it boring, but this book actually sparked some interest. An abundance of color illustrations, real-life examples, and what-if discussions are included. Yet the language used is simple, and important terms are defined clearly and concisely in side notes, so that the most important terms stand out immediately. At the end of each chapter is a Key Terms and Summary section. The summary section outlines the most important points in the chapter, so that you can quickly learn the important facts while revising (or cramming) for an exam.
I tried to think about the bad points of this book, but honestly can't think of any. Even if you are totally and utterly disinterested in politics like me, this book just might give you an appreciation of it.
