Great Teaching Tool

The Apple ipod Video is a quality Personal Media Player. It plays music and videos very well as well as displays photos and text. As a teacher, I use the iPod instead of lugging around a package of CD-ROMs, DVD's, and flash drives. The iPod can be connected in the classroom to the existing projection/sound system using existing or additional cables. I can put on a picture display with music, show videos, play music and display text very easily. There is plenty of room to store files that are too big for a flash drive (such as a DVD segment. By putting the iPod in Disk Mode and checking 'Allow Disk Use' in iTunes, you can use the iPod pretty much as an external hard drive. Of course, you will need a computer for that. The 30 GB white model doesn't seem to show scratches as much as the black version and it is larger so that with my big hands, the risk of dropping is reduced. Last, they are quite dependable. But, if something should go wrong, they are also quite easy to repair - even for a novice. Basically it is a parts exchange - take out the bad parts and replace them with good/new ones (you can find them on ebay). All in all, the iPod 5th generation is a quality personal media player, that looks good and does even more than most people think it does.
