Not the same quality as the same item purchased at a retail store earlier this season
6 of 6 found this helpful I've collected these ornaments each year since 2002 (so 17 years now), and the product I received is not the quality of the authentic Swarovski annual ornaments that I've purchased this year, or in the past. I ordered 3 of these earlier this season from Macy's and needed another (Macy's was sold out), which led me to ordering this after the holidays. The price made me wonder about it, but I considered that since it was after the holidays perhaps there was inventory to move...the many positive reviews made me feel more confident. Upon arrival, I noticed a difference in quality and decided to compare this side by side to one of the others purchased earlier this season. While the design (shape/style/markings) are identical, there is a noticeable difference in the quality. The printing on the box was not identical font size (which doesn't take away from the product, simply pointing out there was a difference), this was missing the info/warranty insert, the quality of the ribbon was different (this one also arrived untied and with a longer ribbon...I've purchased at least 3 of these each year, for 16 years, and have never had one arrive untied), the silver date tag and the crystal was lesser quality (the silver and crystal were both more dull). If you are not a collector, chances are you'll open this and LOVE it. But for those that value the quality and have other pieces to compare it to, you'd likely notice these differences. This was an add on gift, so I did still present it (after polishing up the tag and crystal to try to make it look nicer)...if this was to add to my collection, I would have returned it. In the future, I will stick to buying this item at a retail store.
