Leica Apo-Telyt-M 135mm F/3.4 APO MF Lens

The sharpest telephoto I've experienced.
This lens is so sharp it can "see" 3 of Jupiter's moons.
Search Paul Roark Santa Ynez Valley skies Jupiter .

Sony Alpha 7r image quality but lighter
0 of 1 found this helpful This Sony model takes the interchangeable lens a7 series to a lighter model, which is much appreciated for travel and hiking. The zoom is capable of professional, gallery sales quality, with the main weakness being the 28mm corners, as would be expected.

A very convenient daylight outdoor travel lens.
Yes or no answers are oversimplified.
At 35mm f/8 it's outstanding. For a travel lens, it's very convenient and usable at 28 & 50 for outside, daylight shooting. That said, it's not going to equal the top primes in wide open shooting. At 28 there is some barrel distortion. At 50 image sharpness is not Leica prime class off axis. There is never bad corner smearing or the like.
My Sony a7rii with Tri-Elmar fits into the third party "ever-ready" case I use to protect both. So, I can do daylight, outside shooting with just one piece of equipment -- the Sony and this optic.
Back home, the 50mm image can be processed with Topax's AI Gigapixel to make a 75mm equivalent enlargement that most will not be able to tell from the very best.
I'm very happy with the purchase. It meets my expectations.
