Very Strong At First, Fades to A Lighter Scent
17 of 24 found this helpful This is, indeed, an authentic product. That aside, I do like this perfume. It is, overall, a nice perfume. It's very heavy at first, and eventually fades into some of it's more woody notes. It's supposed to have pink pepper and orange blossom as its top notes, jasmine and coffee for it's heart notes, and vanilla, patchouli, and cedarwood as the base notes. I can barely smell much but the vanilla and a touch of the orange blossom when I first spray it. Over time, the strong (it was shockingly strong, at first) scent of the vanilla fades some. I did not like how prominent the vanilla was for the first couple of hours of wear- it reminds me of a perfume you'd wear in middle or high school. As a young woman wanting to go for more of a refined scent, I was less than pleased with the prominent sweet smell of this perfume. I was hopeful that the sample I'd tried a few years ago was representative of the perfume. It was nowhere near as heavy in sweetness as this bottle is. The smell eventually fades to a more woody scent, which I enjoy a lot, though it does take a couple of hours for the harsh initial scent of vanilla (and the liiiiiight pepper and orange) to give in to the heart notes, which are more delicate than the initial scent. I wish that there was more of a balance in this perfume. I didn't want so much vanilla in the scent- fortunately, it fades to something I'm more fond of.
Good scent for younger women, or maybe a club scene. The bottle squirts out more than some may like (including me), so it's difficult to thin out. It's long lasting, though (6hrs+) and wears nicely. If you're looking for something a little more refined, I'd suggest Black Orchid. This is a good perfume, but a little juvenile for me in it's early stages. It fades to a very nice woody scent with the patchouli and coffee notes apparent. When spraying, proceed with caution. The bottle arrived sealed, and was in perfect condition when I got it. I am happy with my purchase.
