How to program this key:
8 of 8 found this helpful This key is the same quality like the two Ford keys that came with my 2017 F-150 XLT. A local locksmith cut it for $20, took 10 minutes.
Now for the programming:
1) Insert an existing key and turn the ignition cylinder ON and back to OFF. Ignition should stay on for at least 1 second but not more than 10 seconds. Remove key.
2) Repeat with second existing key within 20 seconds
3) Repeat with NEW key within 20 seconds.
This worked for me.

Easy install on 2017 F150 XLT without center console, flashed it with Forscan myself
Watch the Youtube video 2015 2016 f150 trailer brake installation. All you need to know. Took me about 20 minutes on a XLT truck without the center console. If you don't want to pay the dealer to flash this to your system you can buy a module and download the Forscan software. Will run you about 30-50 bucks for the module and a few hours licensing the software and trying to understand how it works. So you might be better off paying a dealership 50-100 bucks if you're not interested in using the Forscan software for any other modifications.

Umbrella hole too small
Overall quality is good but the hole for the umbrella is too small and will only accommodate few umbrella stems.
