Good to get if you just don't have the cash to get the official one.
It does work, tested and confirmed. I used it for Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles and I think you have to take any games that you currently have in your GBA or GBA SP. And basically it actually does take a bit for your handheld to sync to your Gamecube so give it a little bit of time before assuming it doesn't work. My only complaint is how it's kind of a pain to get it on and off the handheld. (For future reference I used an SP. Don't know if GBA would make any difference.
