Grateful latecomer
How it is possible for a lover of poetry now approaching 80 to come so late in life to the works of Mary Oliver, I do not know. I can only say that I am busy now trying to make up for lost time by reading, sharing, and committing to soul (wish my memory were sufficiently absorbent and retentive) as many of her pieces as days permit. Occasionally, instead of copying a short passage of scripture to head a day's journal/diary entry, I opt for Oliver, having found much in her texts meditative, reverent, prayerful, worshipful - sacred.. In short, Mary Oliver blesses through her poetry.

Gratitude for the gift of each new day is a life-affirming philosophy
I have just begun the book but already know that it will offer the kind of uplifting view of family, faith, and love of country that has been under assault from President Trump and his troops for the past two years. I need the reassuring words of a thoughtful, patriotic public servant to remind me of what has made --- and what keeps --- the USA steady and on course, even in troubled times.

Right style; Wrong size. My mistake.
2 of 2 found this helpful Great pet bed --- just wish my cat were about 1/3 his size. He slept with his head in the igloo for a couple of days, enjoying the catnip I had spread over the floor to tempt him inside. Then I realized how far off my sense of size was (the bed's size and the size of my cat) I am now trying to decide which of my friend's cats would best fit/enjoy the igloo. Size mistake all mine!
