new blood in film
1 of 1 found this helpful I keep getting glimpse of a talent pool out there in the film industry who know how to make the movies that I've been waiting for my whole life. This is one of those examples. On par with "It Follows"--"John Dies At The End"--"Drag Me To Hell"--"Tucker and Dale vs Evil"--"Attack the Block"--"Kickass"--(switching gears)--"Dairy of a Teenage Girl"--"Perks of Being a Wallflower"--"Me and Earl and the Dying Girl"--and "Lars and the Real Girl." "Paper Towns" was a huge disappointment. The latter not withstanding, these films, or rather the people making them, show that they are unafraid. Unafraid of the subject matter--the noir--the genre--and unafraid to poke fun at it, while maintaining the utmost respect for the medium in which they work. And show in no uncertain terms that they know what the hell they're doing. I can't wait to see more from these folks, and as the dino-directors of yester-year; such as QT--Tim Burton--RR--and many others, continue to put out trash. This new blood is coming along in the nick of time. And as these new folks come into their own, I hope to see many--many more BAD ASS MOVIES(!!!), from them.
