The enviroment your dog is housed in has everything to do with the effectiveness of the device.
When you run a Rescue in a residential area, barking dogs are a major problem. Now, let's get real. Even most shock collars won't stop a dog from barking when they spot that pesky neighbors cat taunting them by walking the fence or the fire station a few blocks away gets a call, or one of my elderly neighbors pressing the panic button they ware around the neck, falling and needing an ambulance. If you are expecting the sonic blast birdhouse to stop barking dogs when these things happen, well, when the dogs began to calm down, it will encourage them to stop sooner. Most dog barking causes are loneliness and boredom. Hanging a tire on a rope for large dogs to play with helps a lot! Taking your dog to the Pet Store and walking the toy aisle, ( usually, they will find a favorite.) can help. Tire your dog out with walks and fun. Where these sonic devices work the best is at night when they just want to bark and other dogs join in. These devices DO work but the environment has everything to do with the effectiveness. Four stars because other than a shock collar, which I will Never use again, is the only thing I have found that even comes close to working. My biggest pet peeve with these devices, they EAT the batteries like popcorn at the movies! So if you invest in a sonic deterrence, buy a battery recharger and lots of batteries. On the high 50 foot blast, most will not last 24 hours.

Just a little pricy but cheeper here than the Big Box Store!
2 of 2 found this helpful We run a small animal rescue and set up every other weekend for adoption events. These work both for full time kenneling and are super easy to take apart in four sections without the cover; Both ends and both sides slip right into our van. Also, if you have small dogs like most of ours, you can easily divide them. You only get one gate but a few zip ties and a bungy cord will make a good 'hinge' :-) Also, if you order two and the animals are friendly, you can get creative as the panels will connect almost any way you need. Think Tetras. :-) A few small tips: If using for large dogs, you should pound a few stakes at the corners and zip tie the corners to the stakes to keep the big dogs from walking the kennels around the yard. Also, although the included cover works well, you should consider side tarps to protect them during a heavy windblown storm. If you are on a budget like us, you can drop a wood pallet inside, cover it with plywood or even a rug and you have an open air dog den. As for a dog house, you might want to put it inside before you connect the last panel. And as for going in and out, most dogs will never have to Duck to get in our out. Unless you are a child or small person.... QUACK! or OUCH! :-)

Defending Your Life.
Everyone has an idea of what the afterlife might be like when last we close our eyes. Although a bit dated, this movie touches on the concept that we have lived many lives and at it's end, we sit before judges to review that 'cycle'. Did we face our fears? If so, we are allowed to move to the next level. If not, back to earth you go to try again. Hint: When you get to Judgement City, the quality of your hotel will give you a clue as to how well you did:-)
