Great product, exact and superior replacement for the older HE225A
I had an older Honeywell HE225A model installed which was working for more than 11 years. Its base frame plastic had however become brittle due to the long-term heat exposure. While disassembling to clean the base frame it broke. The HE225A is not being produced any longer and certain replacement parts are not available for it. The best overall solution was to instead buy the same sized but superior Honeywell HE240A. It installed in the same duct opening as earlier and everything came together perfectly. Further, the HE240A has a duct pressure switch cutout feature which ensures water to the moisture pad flows only when the furnace fan blows and air is moving through the down and up vents. The older HE225A does not have this feature, so water to the moisture pad would flow immediately when the furnace was energized and even without the furnace fan blowing. So, HE240A is setup to save water.
