Defective Pencil, battery issues, $30 additional to solve issue
21 of 21 found this helpful The pencil arrived great, the packaging was new and original as described. However, when I attempted to use it, the pencil would not connect to my ipad. I thought it was a problem with my ipad so I tried to connect the pencil to someone else's and it still wouldn't work so I knew it was a problem with the pencil itself. I contacted Apple Tech support over the phone and although we troubleshooted we were not able to solve the issue. So, I scheduled an appointment to go to the Apple store and visit the Genius Bar. The technicians there told me that the battery was defective as the pencil would not hold battery, making it unable to connect to any ipad. They said the parts were too small to fix, so Apple does not fix pencils. I had to pay an additional $30, almost double of what I originally thought I would spend on the pencil to receive a replacement pencil from Apple.
