Great CD
This is a great sounding CD that brings back many memories of watching TV Shows of the past. A must for all TV Theme fans.

Great performances and story telling
Americans with an interest in Old Time Radio will appreciate that "Appointment With Fear" was the British Version of the CBS Radio Series "Suspense." Even has the same opening and music of the show. There are four programs on two CDs in this collection. In the first tale, Marius Goring, who played the Scarlet Pimpernel on radio, gives an excellent performance as D'Albret in an adaptation of Edgar Allan Poe's classic story "The Pit and the Pendulum." The second tale, "The Speaking Clock," by John Dickson Carr has many twists to the story making it an interesting one. The third tale, "The Clock Strikes Eight," is a Dr. Gideon Fell story by John Dickson Carr with Richard George as Dr. Fell. Dr. Fell doesn't have much time to save an innocent woman from hanging for a murder she did not commit. Richard George gives a splendid performance as Dr. Fell. Can you guess the ending before it is revealed? A must hear episode for all Dr. Fell fans. And finally the fourth tale, "And The Deep Shuddered" by Monckton Hoffe I felt was the weakest of all the stories presented here. Still I gave it a five star review as I didn't want to take anything away from some of the performances on here. Sadly, as with many of the shows from this era, according to the notes that come with this CD release, these are the sole surviving episodes from the BBC Archive. So don't get your hopes up that there will be more releases of this program to come. One last note, the very start of the first tale on this collection is just a little scratchy in sound quality, but you can still understand it. The scratch sound is quickly gone, and the sound quality improves greatly right afterwards. This does not take away from anything at all. Glad I purchased this release.

A Most Enjoyable CD
This CD was a re-release of two albums they had issued earlier put on one CD. Buskin and Batteau made such great music, and if you enjoy folk rock music like Jim Croce, Harry Chapin, Gordon Lightfoot, and others, you will love this CD. This CD contains many of the songs that Buskin and Batteau are known for. It's a most for all music lovers, and those who like songs from the Great American Songbook. If you've never heard their music before, take a chance on this CD. I think you will not only love it, but will be playing it for a long time to come. Glad I was able to find this CD again, as I gave it as a gift to someone. It's that good.
