Great book with terrific reference material.
This is a terrific book. The writing is wonderful, the historical references are illuminating, and the hypotheses/conjectures/conclusions are interesting and sometime provocative. But the REAL values here are the references and sheer volume of historical content used by the authors. They invite you inside the gold mine. The treasure is yours to find. Start exploring.
