Great Knife
1 of 1 found this helpful I own a lot of Schrade knives. I rarely find knives of such good quality made of 1095 Carbon steel for the money Schrade charges.
I have numerous 5 and 6 inch knives but unless I'm backpacking, camping or in a survival situation they're really a little large for carrying - especially running to the hardware store or around town.
A knife this size doesn't attract attention but with a full tang and it being a fixed blade there's no danger of it folding on your hand in a hard use situation.
The spine is thick and the edge sharp. 1095 Carbon steel is easy to sharpen to a razor edge with very little effort. It holds it's edge and the only real down side is making sure you keep a thin layer of oil on the exposed metal to prevent rust.
The carry option allows for straight down or horizontal. I prefer a cross draw which makes it easy to get at, hard to be taken and easy to return to the sheath.
The only reason I gave it four stars is the sheath. Although I like it, the fit is so tight it takes a really hard pull to get it out. There isn't a screw to loosen the fit so my only option was to heat the material and jam something in to hold it open while it cooled. Not something I've ever dealt with in a Schrade sheath.
Still love the knife and despite the small issue with the sheath it certainly isn't a big enough reason not to buy it.

Can't go wrong with Shrade
Shrade makes the most cost effective quality blades I've ever found. One was rated knife of the year at a knife show and it cost around $50. Can't go wrong with Shrade. They use 1095 carbon steel, ship razor sharp and 1095 holds is easy to resharpen when necessary.
