Star Wars R2D2 Bubble Machine 16 Inches Tall Rotate 90°new With Sounds And Light

The Star Wars R2D2 bubble machine is a nice collectable for the price since it give a relatively realistic representation of the droid. At about 16", one could pay much more for a collectable which would be much smaller. Since I purchased mine as a prop, I fashioned a concave lens over the bubble outlet to give it a more movie like appearance. When batteries are added, small LED's light up, buttons can cause the head to swivel and the bubble generator to start and short sounds will emit from the unit. Unfortunately the battery compartment is poorly designed and it is difficult to get the batteries (8) to stay in place before closing the chest plate.

Fades
The product is made of sturdy vinyl and the image looks as though it was printed with a shallow depth of field, with the closes objects being on relatively good focus and more distant objects being fuzzy. As others have stated it comes folded and therefore it is necessary to iron out and roll the background in order for the product to be useful. I did iron the back of the vinyl on low setting and left it rolled for over a week. Unfortunately part of the image faded out and folds are still present.
