Does the job for a great price
Fit and functions like original. Great price!

Installs easy and works great
It does what it is supposed to. I am using it with Windows 10. Windows automatically installed the driver for it. It works with my old Sony Digital 8 Video Cassette Recorder and Sony DCR-VX2000 camcorder.

Why doesn't the upper section lock in any position?

Cons - upper telescoping section only locks in the fully raised position. This is a major flaw in my opinion. It would also be nice if the AC power connection charged the battery, but it doesn't.
