Smells amazing- but sadly it has NO staying power!
1 of 1 found this helpful I'm a long-time fan of Pino Silvestre, my dad used to wear it when I was growing up and I have for years as well. It smells exactly the same as I remember, amazing! Obviously it's a pine-fresh, but without smelling like PineSol. There's some clove in there and similar woodsy-spicy-floral scents mingled in as well. The only HUGE problem I have with my recent purchase is the staying power. It's short. REALLY SHORT. I'm talking I can spray this on my wrist to the point it's literally dripping on the floor and in half an hour I can whiff as hard as I can without detecting absolutely anything! I'm serious. I think the company has changed somehow in terms of quality control. First thing you notice is the "new" bottle. It's got a different cheaper-looking paper label unlike the transparent gold sticker I'm used to. The top of the pinecone you depress to spray is flimsier, and a darker color. There was also plastic flashing in the way of the actual sprayer or perhaps it was just poorly made and disrupted the spray itself, so it dripped all over the inside of the plastic and rand down the bottle and went everywhere. I discarded that part and just spray it with the regular spray bottle pump underneath. I guess I should mention the box is a bit darker than it used to be, for what that's worth, but seemed decent quality.
As a matter of fact I just sprayed some on within 5 minutes and it's already nearly gone. The few people who have smelled it just after I put it on liked it. Unfortunately, this bottle is relegated to a room freshener or personal aromatherapy as it isn't lasting enough to be considered a perfume/cologne. Not a soul would know I'm wearing it after I leave the house. What's the point?
I'd be more suspect I bought a knockoff if it didn't smell so exactly like I remember (unless they just got lucky?). I'll be writing to the company itself asking what's up after this review.
