BLUE BOAT COVER FITS YAMAHA SX 190 2012-2013
Aug 10, 2017
Has some issues
I would give it a conditional recommendation. Cover fit is marginally ok for my Yamaha. Could use more fabric across the bow area from left to right. Could also use a second set of support straps on the bow to keep the fabric taut and prevent water pooling. The cover is not water-proof. It is water resistant. I would not count on it to protect your boat in snow areas unless you provide additional cover support in the bow area. The snow collapses the fabric, and creates water pooling when the snow melts. Then the water slowly drips through the cover into your boat and you get a horrific mildew problem when you remove the cover in the Spring. Literally every surface inside the boat had to be cleaned with bleach. Before I store the boat away this winter I plan to reinforce several areas to prevent fabric collapsing, and cover the whole boat with a waterproof plastic tarp. The original temporary transport cover that came with the boat was far better and you could take that cover off and on in 5 minutes. It had what amounted to an "ironing board cover" type arrangement with a strap that ran all around the edge of the cover and ratcheting devices on both sides of the cover near the bow. I loved it, but it's only good for two years or so. Wish someone would copy the design with heavier material. Yamaha really blew it by not selling a cover for its boats.
Finally, the securing tie-down straps are not well thought-out. They lack sufficient and proper clips (male and female) and the lengths don't work in some cases. I wound up having to tie the ends of some of the straps around the trailer which makes for a tedious time putting the cover on and taking it off.

Versatile and useful product.
Bought for my adult son. Says it's very useful. Well constructed.

Fits perfectly but overpriced
1 of 1 found this helpful They kind of have you over a barrel with these kinds of products. They're grossly overpriced, but the alternative of buying the whole carafe-lid is even more costly.
