To Conquer Hell.
This is the most comprehensive book on WWI US military. The author pulled no punches to describe the horror of this war. He portrayed General Pershing in his attempt forge a war with outdated military conventions.
Even my grand father, who was a machine gunner, told me how Pershing gave him a Springfield rifle instead of his machine gun that he was trained on.
Highly recommend this book to WWI enthusiasts. I could not put it down. I am currently on my 3rd reading of this book because I see new things in it I never saw before.

Just Mercy by Bryan Stevenson
The best book I have ever read about the injustice of our judicial system. This book is even more relevant in today's politicaly charged climate and racism in the Trump era.
Bryan pulls no puches in his descrition of incarceration of black Americans and their treatment in our prison system.
I highly recomend this book to anyone who wants to get to the critical issues facing African American men in today's resurgence of racism in America.

Read this book twice. I have been wrong about evangelicals for 40 years. I now have a completely new view of Christ from hate to love. Recommend this for anyone struggling with modern day Fundamentalism. This book will have a profound view of life with Christ without the garbage attached to it by the right wing conservative evangelicals. No judgement here, just straight forward examples from the man who lived through the movement and back to the true love of Christ.
