Dell X300 Still Awesome!
I love the X300. With Pentium Mobile power at 1.2-1.4GHz this is still one of the best "Netbook/Laptop" combos produced by Dell. Far more available than the X1 or Macbook Air. There is one memory slot on the bottom of the case that can easily be upgraded to a 1Gb stick. That generally gives you 1.25Gb of RAM. The other slot and the hard drive are only accesible by dis-assembly (which is still not too much trouble. Upgrade the hard-drive to a 100GB or more with more speed and your in business. The 12" screen beats most netbooks around today and the keyboard has keys that are 95% of full size. Most fingers can handle this, and the view is plenty big. It comes in under 3lbs by itself and you add a little more if you carry the mobile base. The mobile base has a hot-swappable slot that accepts most of the drives produced by Dell in the same period. You can have a DVD-RW drive and/or any other combo drive available. There is also an extra battery charger slot, which you will need to fill if using the entire, combined rig on battery only. Batteries are still available everywhere online, and on ebay. One of the nicest additions to these is the SD-card slot. Upload pictures from your digital camera on the go. Built-in wireless, network and modem means any connection available while traveling can be used without adding an extra card.
Best of all, if you want a "Hackintosh"...this one works for that also. I've run Snow Leopard on mine.

Yamaha Clarinets (YCL-250)
2 of 2 found this helpful These are fantastic instruments for beginners.
Solid performance and construction, these will play well for years and withstand young student's inexperience in handling. As they get older and progress to a wooden clarinet, the 250 can become a backup or outdoor instrument as the resin they are made of can withstand the temperature and weather they might encounter outside.
You can buy these on ebay for 1/3 the price of new ones and still have the same learning and playing experience of new ones.
