ALL metal - great lamp
I build custom fishing rods. When doing thread work, eye magnification and GOOD lighting are imperative!! In the past, swing arm lamps of less quality have always wound up breaking - the piece on the bottom of the lamp is plastic and it always breaks. These are ALL METAL, including that bottom piece. Really like these (bought 3 total).
