2 of 2 found this helpful This is NOT a line matching transformer but actually a filament transformer for 6.3V or 12.6V vacuum tube filaments. Because it has two primaries it can be used as an isolation transformer for 115V service. In fact it can actually be used as an isolated plate power transformer. In this use the 12.6V secondary is placed in series with the second primary, now being used as a secondary. Using the 115 + 12.6 windings in series for a 131.6Volt output, a simple voltage doubler will provide 2.8 times the ac voltage as DC. With 366Volts peak you can drive most power output tubes at near full voltage.
