Awesome Solution!!!!!
1 of 1 found this helpful I believe in the free market system, supply and demand, bid and offer for the free exchange of goods snd services. In the case of this knob, the manufacturer (Thermador) had ceased the manufacture of replacement parts because the part in and of itself was defective. Two options existed - buy a knob that fit the spindle but was ugly and did not match the other knobs OR buy a used part on the open market (eBay) that matched and take my chances on its useful life until it broke. Until now, the used market was a monopoly and there was one source charging $289.95 per knob, sheer market arrogance. I kept looking and found sharpeibear on eBay. Now, with sharpeibear there is an alternative at $60.00 per knob, a replacement built via 3D Printing. Pricey for a knob, but I will pay it. 3D Printing is a technology that produces objects such as out of production parts that are strong and work, being used more and more. I put the knob on and it works! My oven is complete and I no longer have to move knobs around from spindle to spindle. Awesome solution, the fee market triumphs, the monopoly is busted!
