Replace your chair lifts!!!
1 of 1 found this helpful Ever have a chair you liked, but it kept sinking? Or it started to wobble? Me too! I don't know how many cool chairs I threw away because they wouldn't stay up, but it was too many! Then I discovered that the cheaper chairs cost less, because they cut corners on the quality of the pistons and the wheels. There are 4 or 5 classes of pistons (lifts) for chairs and stools, and they differ by materials and and weight ratings. As a rule, the higher the class number, the better the lift, and the more weight it can hold. Most lower end and box store chairs use a class 1 or 2 lift, with some of the bigger executive chairs using a class 3. If you use your chair or stool a lot, or you weigh more than your pet cat, you will really like changing to a class 4 lift, or the Super Heavy Duty class 4+ (note sure if it's actually a 5 or not) that can be rated up to as high as 550 lbs.! Even if you don't weigh that much, these lifts hold up to use and abuse, much better! Okay, here's the down side, if you already have a lift (piston) installed, it can be very hard to remove without special tools! But you can rent them if necessary. Or better yet, the next time you buy a chair you like, grab the piston, take the measurements from it and find the same one in a class 4 or Super Heavy Duty, then place your order on eBay, and when it arrives, install THAT ONE in your new chair instead. This last one I bought, was actually for a roll-around car repair stool that I had, but would sink to the bottom every time I leaned over too much. It works so well now, that it's favorite work stool! And it stays adjusted to wherever I set it!!!

One of the best KLR 650 mufflers
Stock KLR 650 mufflers are quiet and reliable, but they're heavy, ugly, and a little restrictive. After-market mufflers are cool looking, and can give you a little more power, but most are kinda loud, and need to be re-packed regularly. Not so with the LeoVince mufflers, they need no packing (Yay!) because they use internal steel baffles, and the flow very well, so they definitely give you more power on the mid and upper end of the rev range. Noise wise, they are quieter than most, but definitely louder than stock... unless... you match it to an FMF PowerBomb header like I did... then it get almost as quiet as stock! And I know this how?!? No, I didn't use some sound meter or my memory... I just happen to have 2 identical KLR 650's... 1 with, 1 without... ran them at the same time and compared directly, easy peasy. Stock is still a little quieter, but not by much. And at some speeds, they are pretty much the same. But one thing you should know, you have to really jam the mid pipe onto the header as far as it will go so the tire will clear the muffler! I absolutely love this setup on my bike, and it doesn't drive me or the neighbors crazy.

The much better rebuilt pump
This pump was clean and tight and quiet when I installed it. The pressure at idle was great! C&M Hydraulic is a very reputable company and they have been handling Mercedes pumps for a long time. Most MB dealers use them over other brands for a reason. That's why I spent the money on the C&M as opposed to some other brand, I only want to do this job once! And after all the money I spent on self leveling suspension (powered by the P/S pump), I wasn't going to risk it. Just be sure to document the core return process carefully so that you get credited smoothly, it a huge core deposit!
