Not good for bubbles
While these are very nice stoppers and MIGHT be good for still wines, they do not hold back the bubbles in a champagne bottle.

What Knots?!

Today I hauled the splitter over to the wood rounds and split over a cord in 2 hours. A combination of fir and red hemlock without effort. The hemlock knots broke as if they weren’t even there; the fir knots offered a bit of resistance for a second or two before submitting to the pressure.
In the past I had rented a splitter twice and borrowed one a few times, so I thought it was time I bought my own. I put in a lot of research before this purchase and I feel I got the best deal available. Yeah, the engine is made in China, but it’s a Honda clone, and my local service guy told me the Chinese Honda clones are every bit as good as the Kholer... maybe better.
The only thing I do not like about this motor is the oil cap dipsticks are a low quality plastic; I’m on the lookout for aluminum replacements.
If you’re shopping for a splitter, whatever you decide to buy you need to consider the full beam construction over the half beam.
Every time I would change a half beam splitter from horizontal to vertical or visa versa I was worried about the hydraulic cylinder as it was the easiest point of leverage and I never believed it was a good practice to use it as such.
All things considered with my limited experience with 4 other splitters this one is a bargain.

Great case!
Bought one for my iPad Air 2 and liked it so much I bought another for my wife's iPad Air 1 so she would not have case envy.
