Not for all AR's

Nicely packaged but weak on features.
7 of 8 found this helpful This product is a "Sharpie-like" paint pen with a reciprocating tip. Has promise but has problems to overcome. First, it is an extremely expensive way to buy basic flat black paint. The convenience of having it in pen dispenser disappears when it is actually used. The tip is a broad, chisel-shaped hard felt that doesn't apply the paint in a controlled manner. Blobs on and is difficult to apply smoothly. Also, even though I used the "flat" black pen, the paint dried to a shiny almost gloss finish and did NOT match my AR receiver's finish at all. I would avoid this expensive paint system. There is a MUCH better choice that works great, matches ALL parkerized finishes and is very cheap as you by a large spray can of it at about the same price as this pen. The paint can be sprayed on a paper plate or piece of cardboard and a small brush or toothpick is dipped in the spray and then applied. Dries fast and looks and blends in perfectly!! I won't give the brand, but is is a popular "rust-preventative" brand, and is called "High Heat - Withstands up to 1200 degrees". Get flat black and you'll have a lifetime supply of the best "black gun" touch-up refinishing paint available.
