The Last Ship: The Complete First Season 1 (DVD, 2015, 3-Disc Set)

Great Concept, Dissapointing Delivery

If you're expecting something as reflective or insightful as Nevile Shute's post-apocalyptic masterpiece 'On The Beach' (that 'The Last Ship' is loosely based on); the 1959 classic film; or even the 'OK' 2000 remake - you'll be disappointed. I was excited about seeing Rhona Mitra again, especially after her excellent work in 'Strike Back', as well as John Pyper-Ferguson '(Suits', 'Burn Notice'). But... despite good production value with competent casting & acting... pedestrian scripts built around uninspiring plot-lines sink what could be a riveting 'global pandemic' series. I stuck it through the Season 1 DVD set hoping it would find its groove & pick-up momentum, but 'The Last Ship' proves to be predictable network-type fare that stretches 'cinematic license' a bit too far too often. I'll pass on the follow-up Season 2 & 3, but hey, if it got renewed - twice - obviously it has an audience.

HQ, Small & Simple for Audio Equipment

I'm using these footswitches for controlling drum machines; loopers, and other audio processors. They have a smaller stage footprint than standard foot switches, and are more reliable than cheap footswitches. The only change I made was to rewire them with heavier gauge & longer cables, and mount them on a home-made 'footswitch board' so that they can't move around.
