Professional DVD Units

It doesn't work!!
Unfortunately I didn't check this unit out when It first arrived, I thought I would wait till I took it down to my summer home and set it up. I removed a very old but working Pioneer receiver and plugged this one in and can't get any sound to the speakers no matter whether I choose A,B or A&B, I get nothing. It doesn't matter if switched to tuner, CD, or phono, Not even a hiss! Lights are on to show you are the above mentioned modes but no sound!!
