Seem To Be Quite Precise
Craftsmanship appears to be good with even high gloss polish and no signs of burrs or obvious defects. Checked all sizes with known good shafts and pin-gages; none seem to introduce runout beyond 0.0002" (TIR) and most introduced no measurable runout. They run concentric because TIR did not increase at distances further from the collet mouth. Cannot comment if this is a "luck set" so YMMV.

Hard hitting professional camera at featherweight price.
5 of 5 found this helpful A very high end piece of equipment in the 4:3 format geared toward still photography yet capable of high-end video. This camera is easy to use and has a very well thought-out menu system designed for professional use. As experience is gained, using the more advanced features comes naturally. Has every essential feature that an advanced user could ever want or need. Build quality is great. Lens selection covers all possible needs. You can spend more on other brands but you won't get more for your money.

Decent Quality Given Its Low Price
Craftsmanship is surprisingly good. Surfaces are ground and polished, no burrs or chatter marks. Threads are very clean and properly started and terminated.
R8 external dimensions are all withing norms of the R8 spec. R8 Taper fully meets mating surface. TIR measured directly off the collet taper is just under 1/2 thou (0.0005") thus, variance is +/- 0.00025. Measured TIR off exterior body (just for grins) and it was dead-on.
Ideally, TIR measured from the taper should be under 0.0002" but for the price, this is acceptable.
Do not know if this is a lucky unit. YMMV.
