EDC Watch
This is my third Luminox. I've never had anything but good things to say about this brand. They always work and take a beating. I have retired my black Luminox dive watch and only use it when I do heavy work with risks of scratching or breaking it. I chose the 8817 because of it's military style and size. It is not a large complex watch like the G-shock. It's simple and easy to read day or night.

Makes the unreadable Joyce finally understandable.
I have a strange bucket list. One of my must do activities is to read all of the classic books I heard about in college so many years ago. At that time all the literati from the English department would sit around and discuss James Joyce. I would overhear them in the coffee shop and feel so dumb. Did you ever try to read Joyce? Because he wrote in his hometown vernacular in a stream of consciousness style, I was never able to get through the first few pages before giving up. I was smart enough to know that writing like his is better digested by hearing. So when I found an inexpensive CD of his book Ulysses, I bought it and guess what? He is a great story teller! I've since passed the CD on to a friend who had the same problem reading this difficult author. Kind of makes me want to dress in black and go back to that coffee shop so I could chat about this wonderful book.
