Wster Alarm Saved us from unexpected damage
1 of 1 found this helpful This alarm works great. I put it in the basement and put some longer wires on it so that the actual alarm could be upstairs. In addition, I added a couple of different sets of wires on a single unit as a branch circuit so it would alert us to water that might occur in more than one place. All it takes is for water too touch bare spots in the wires to sound the alarm.
It actually saved us from two different potential catastrophes. One was a sewer backup during a heavy rain. The other was water that came thorough the foundation.
I have had several of water alarms and this is the best value. It is relatively inexpensive, versatile, and reliable.

Wasp natural deterrent works
I bought a couple of Wasp natural deterrent products on eBay and to my surprise it really works. The principle is that many wasps (although not mud daubers) are territorial. I hung this on the south side of the house under a canopy and the wasps that normally are buzzing all around the south and east sides of the house are not present this year.
Our house is a 3000 st ft Victorian two-story house built in 1884 and wasps used to love all of the nooks and crannies. The only potentially negative thing about these giant wasp-look-a-like nests is that they are REALLY large.
I was a bit concern that the way I effectively concealed it might diminish its effectiveness. So far, that has not been a concern; in fact, its effective range is far greater than indicated. Ours seems to keep wasps away at least 75 feet and even around the corner.

Excellent labor econ text
This text is either the best, or at least one of the best, available to explain labor economics and things related to it. Older editions are nearly as good as the most recent one because the authors seem to understand that everything does not need to be changed; instead they typically only change when it is certain to be an improvement.
