Canon Powershot SD890
9 of 9 found this helpful I previously purchased a Sony Cybershot when they first came onto the scene. It cost me well over $800 for a 3.3 megapixel camera and that was top of the line at the time. The Sony served me well for many years but as I was shopping at a Sam's club, I had a chance to look at the Canon SD890 and decided it was time for an upgrade. I spent several days searching the E-Bay camera's for the price I wanted to pay and finally the right price came up and the purchase was made, saving me over more than a $100 on similar E-Bay cameras and more the $200 on the Sam's Club price. This Camera has more than exceeded my expectations and to be honest it is a little intimidating with all the options that it has but as you use the camera and consult the manual things get a lot better. My camera came brand new and was not a refurbished model and so it had a 32 bit card which is almost useless if you are taking more than 6 pictures at a time, so I also purchased an 8 gbyt card which is no problem for the camera to handle and can now take about 1200 pictures at the best setting or over 6000 pictures at the normal setting. The camera is easy to use, small enough to fit in a shirt pocket and the pictures so far are outstanding to say the least and that is in automatic mode. I can't wait to experiment with some of the other modes such as stitching (wide angle panoramic) color switch (changing the color of a car for instance to a different shade, can't wait to show my rich brother a brand new stable of different colored mustangs that I now own). This camera is well worth the money I payed and is much much more than the Sony for less than a third of the price that I paid for it. Just goes to show how much tech has advanced and I hope this camera wont be old before I use all the options.
My only complaint is the fact that the manual is small(shirtpocket size) and so it's a little difficult to read, other than that no complaints and I'm very happy with the purchase and also the seller and his pricing.

good item for the price when modified
I had to modify one of the pump outlet holes to fit a 2" assembly so that it would work with my pump and it works probably better then it should. The stock plumbing was just too small to really show results. My pond is average depth 3 ft and is 20 ft long and about 14 ft wide, the skimmer has so far kept it clear of leaves etc. I would purchase again.
