Top Of The Heap
Having owned many Shimano reels over the years, this is about as good as they come. If you’re a dedicated long bomber, a met might do you a little better but that’s about it. Small (roughly the same size as a 50e, 70, slx), comfortable, stable as a rock and feels right at home from a 3/16 oz on up.

Amazing little cab
1 of 1 found this helpful I play out in function bands so this cab has seen everything. Rain, too much power, sweltering July days, many a snowy load in, 5 hour gigs, you name it.
On top of that, it’s loud enough for whatever you need...especially if you line into the pa

844c is probably the best jig rod on the planet
I’ve owned everything...nrx, legend x, shimanos of all types, all sorts of bps, abus, st croix and loomis
The conquest 844c/metanium has blown every other combo out of the water as far as jigs are concerned. It will throw baits ranging from finesse on up with ease. Mine throws finesse jigs with no issue whatsoever. It’s highly sensitive, comfortable, lightweight and incredibly powerful. On top of all that, it’s so crisp that it lands your jig within inches of your intended spot almost every time. It’s actually quite incredible. The legend x and nrx are going nowhere in my lineup. Each of these rods has a purpose...but for what it does, the conquest is as perfect as you can reasonably ask for.
