The Hobbit finally concludes with some fears, some tears, and some elfish ears.
This film series got a lot of flak from critics, but it's heart is in the right place and with Tolkien that's what matters most. Yes, the dwarves do kind of run together, but after watching the special features about the actors I watched the films again and the dwarves came across much clearer. I do blame Peter Jackson for not giving each of them a short backstory. (See: Marvel Studios for how to wrangle a dozen or more characters and give them all quality screen time.) Anyway, I enjoyed Battle of the Five Armies, esp. since I have the first two films in the series and watch them frequently. Nice to see how it all ended, even if there are unresolved plot issues. Like who actually now has the Arken Stone?? Pax.
