Historical that is very well written
Interesting and compelling read. Well written and the first of 4 books about brothers and their one sister. Some violence. But a stand alone book. My personal favorite in the series was Summer Breeze (a very different historical from the usual). Loved the characters.

A book that I could not put down. Very well written. Another of this author’s books that make you feel you are right there in the character’s hearts and minds. Such a good read.

Highly recommended - Excellent
I loved this book. It is 1880, and the story of how 2 people find love. But at the same time, not your usual historical read. It is so much more.It was funny, it was serious, and had all of what one looks for in a book
I loved the characters, loved the story, and loved the setting. One of the best books I have read in a long time - I did not want to put it down, and hope there are more like it to come. Since it is the first in what I hope is a series, I can hardly wait to read another of the Valence family books. And I read a lot of books by Catherine Anderson.
