ICOM MBF-1 Mounting Base NOT Worth the Money!
I purchased the MBF-1 to mount the touch screen of an ICOM IC-5100A remotely. The base is unable to support the weight of the touch screen when the arm holding the touch screen is approximately at a110 degree angle measured from the mounting surface. The suction cup does not hold its suction and is pulled forward towards the weight of the touch screen. In my opinion the suction cup is not large enough to support the weight forward. I have it mounted on a desk surface and I have to use a prop at the base of the touch screen to stop it from falling forward..
The construction material of the MBF-1 is made of plastic. It is light weight. For the 49.00 USD, you would expect it to be more substantial and made of metal or heavy duty composite. I DO NOT recommend the purchase of the MBF-1 base for this application.

Well Constructed and a Good Value
2 of 2 found this helpful This is a solid, portable mast that when assembled reaches 29 feet. The tripod leg sections are easily identified and the mast sections are fed though the orange tripod. All are easily assembled by insertion; no tools required. The kit contents are complete and all are stored in the provided carry bag. The aluminum sections are coated forest green, guy rings orange, and tripod orange. Based on my research on eBay, this is a good value for the money.

ICOM UT-133 Bluetooth Unit for ID-5100 is Well Worth the Money.
The UT-133 was very easy to install. Detailed instructions for installation and setup are found in the full ICOM ID-5100 user manual which can be found easily on the internet. I set up two inexpensive Bluetooth headsets and had no issues. I also set up the VOX function and it worked too well. Only issue was with the VOX function. It was too sensitive and picked up noise from my headset. For me, this is not an issue since wireless headsets give me freedom to move about. The UT-133 is very well constructed. Also, I received delivery much earlier than quoted. I recommend the purchase of the UT-133.
