Didn't fit. I'd sure be careful
After reading lots of reviews, I bought this cover, and in this size for my bike, but WRONG! This cover is Very oddly shaped being both extremely short from front to back of bike, yet very wide over the seat. Construction quality is OK, and I too cannot figure out why on Earth they would fold this into a fanny pack; very strange indeed.
I bought this cover to use on a 1991' BMW R100GS as a road cover for overnight trips. This is not a large bike by any stretch of the imagination. It's a tall bike, but this would not affect the fit of this cover. The bike has just the BMW tall factory windscreen, no real fairing etc., and a short back rest on the seat. The bike does have factory removable saddle bags, but the cover will not fit either with or without the side bags. I do not have a top case of any kind, but if you did use any type of top case or bag, I doubt you could ever use this cover at all.
When putting it on over the bike, it's a stretch to have it fit over the windscreen, yet has a huge air pocket over the headlight. Then when looking at it over the seat, it's HUGELY wide, so if you left this on the bike in the rain, you would get a lake on top of your seat. But then, you run out of cover as it is so short. I use the included tie straps to hold it to the turn signals, but my rear rack is totally exposed, and the cover simply stretch to its max already.
In short, I would not buy a Nelso Rigg Cover again, ever, unless I had both the cover and the bike together to try it on. This is a VERY strangely designed, and built motorcycle cover, that simply does not fit what it was advertised to fit.
