Free All Penetrating Oil
1 of 1 found this helpful The exhaust system (which is steel with chrome plating) had not been off my antique BMW motorcycle for many years. The slip joints were essentially welded together with rust and carbon buildup. I tried all manner of penetrating oils and Free All is the only one of the bunch that was effective in loosening the joint. I could tell immediately that a reaction was taking place by the rust I was getting on the rag I used to wipe off the excess. It took about three days each to break the slip joints leaving the Free All to soak in over night, but it was worth the wait. The chrome plating cleaned up like new (almost). Also seems to work well for removing surface rust from chrome plated surfaces. None of the other penetrating oils I tried seemed to do much, if anything. Therefore, highly recommend Free All.
